OUR STORY
SHINTOKYO (新東京)
Formed in 2021. Five years after their formation, SHINTOKYO, with Jin Kanayama joining as their new vocalist, released their first best-of album, re-envisioning their journey with a fresh vocal sound.
A 4-piece guitarless band from Tokyo, embodying the next generation of Asian Pops.
The keyboard and bass cover the guitar's range, with the bass particularly moving intensely up and down to create melodic lines. Delicate and tricky drumming, along with a keyboard playing catchy yet bold chord progressions, combine to create cynical and urban vibes.
Just four months after their formation, they took their first stage at Zepp Tokyo, and their 1st single "Cynical City" received a huge response from music industry professionals and media despite no promotion. The following year, they made their first terrestrial TV appearance on NHK General's "Venue101" and performed live.
"Polaroid", released in February 2023, reached No. 1 on J-WAVE's "SAISON CARD TOKIO HOT100". Subsequently, they performed at various festivals both domestically and internationally, including Taiwan and South Korea, and in July 2024, they performed on the RED MARQUEE STAGE at "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL". In November of the same year, they successfully held a solo live concert at "Zepp Shinjuku".
And in 2026, SHINTOKYO will advance to a new chapter.
The challenge has just begun.
